Many experts believe that having a high degree of emotional intelligence is now the most significant differentiator between managers and employees in any workplace. After all, emotional intelligence is essential for all the interactions and relationships we have – whether these are with customers, colleagues, family or the world at large.

Developing Your Emotional Intelligence training course offers the opportunity for participants to take an audit of the four elements that comprise the emotional intelligence framework: (1) self-awareness (2) self-management (3) social awareness (4) relationship management – and to reflect on these competencies.

By the end of this enlightening training, participants will have many strategies for developing and having a sense of using EI within their team and how EI impacts on your practice and productivity and enhance your ability to use your EI to be more positive and productive throughout your life.

  • What is Emotional Intelligence?
  • Introducing the EQ models of self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness and interpersonal skills.
  • Understand EQ and its purpose. The different levels of emotional awareness.
  • Using your emotional knowledge.
  • Recognising both the ‘negative’ and ‘positive’ emotions in yourself and others.
  • Using empathy and trust in your working relationships.
  • Creating the capacity for more effective working relationships with your peers, colleagues, managers and customers.
  • Methods to better lead, motivate and create a higher-performing working group.
Afternoon Session
  • Understanding how your personality affects your emotional intelligence.
  • Taking an EQ Behavioural Assessment.
  • The power and problems with each of the four behavioural styles in managing yourself and others.
  • EQ for building your personal strengths.
  • EQ for overcoming your shortcomings.
  • EQ to increase your ability to understand your
    manager, colleagues and customers.
  • EQ for creating effective working relationships with others and working together with your colleagues in a high performing team.
